This is a nice addition to my Olympus lenses and works well with the 50-200mm and 50mm. I can't see any loss in picture quality and it's very compact and light.
Strengths: Optically excellent teleconverter that adds more reach to all your lenses for a reasonable price.
Weakness: Causes loss of one f-stop.
This teleconverter adds even more versatility to your existing lenses. If you want a fast lens, you'll want to use it on f2.8 lenses or better. It does work with slower lenses, but I don't have much experience with those combinations. Buy this teleconverter and the 50-200mm and you've got one excellent package. Help for the Long Ranger
Strengths: Added reach Less expensive than 500-600 telephoto lens Minimal loss of light
Weakness: Relatively expensive for a teleconverter
I was pleasantly surprised at being able to increase the reach of my 50-200mm telephoto ("long ranger") with so little loss of light using the EC-14. It made for a small and light lens combination ideal for high quality close-up images at the zoo and for the birds feeding in my backyard.
